Corowa Lagoon Walking Trail
ECS delivered safer, more accessible pedestrian connection works between the caravan park, river and boat ramp, combining pathway upgrades with riverbank restoration and revegetation outcomes.
Improving safe and seamless access between the caravan park, river and boat ramp was a key priority for Federation Council — and ECS was proud to deliver the transformation.
The project began with the clearing woody weeds and fallen timber to remove noxious species, open up sightlines and restore the natural setting. The removal of the outdated stair access was then followed by carefully reshaping and stabilising the embankment to create a smooth, accessible pathway, finished with a graded granite surface designed to complement the surrounding environment.
ECS also undertook extensive woody weed removal along the riverbank to restore the natural landscape and improve long-term environmental outcomes. Areas were cultivated and prepared for native tubestock planting, with mulch spread to support establishment and suppress regrowth.
Where possible, green waste generated onsite was repurposed sustainably, with selected logs strategically positioned along the walkway to act as natural vehicle barriers — reinforcing site protection while maintaining the area’s organic character.
Scope of works included:
Demolition and removal of existing infrastructure
Stump grinding and woody weed removal
Drainage upgrades
Installation of granitic pathways
Installation of natural and formal vehicle barriers
Soil preparation and mulching of planting zones
Hydromulching
Revegetation planting
The result is a safer, more accessible and environmentally sympathetic connection that enhances the Corowa Murray River experience for visitors and the local community.
