Davey Rd Interchange
ECS supported a major Hume Freeway interchange upgrade with hydroseeding, erosion control and revegetation outcomes across new embankments, sediment basins and planted zones.
This project involved the major upgrade of a Hume Freeway interchange, transforming it from a half-diamond configuration into a full diamond on/off interchange to improve traffic flow and connectivity. ECS worked in close collaboration with RMS throughout the construction period to deliver critical environmental and revegetation outcomes.
Following the civil works, ECS treated newly formed embankments with hydroseeding to initiate the revegetation process. The hydroseed mix incorporated soil binders to stabilise exposed earthworks, reducing the risk of silt movement and erosion while vegetation established. This approach provided immediate surface protection and supported long-term landscape recovery.
In addition to hydroseeding, ECS undertook planting works within sediment basins and completed tube stock revegetation to enhance biodiversity, strengthen erosion control measures, and support the overall environmental performance of the upgraded interchange.
